The Republican party is going to head for the election with all that they have. It seems that there are two main options for the Republican candidates, Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis.
The rest of the candidates have managed to create a sort of "not like Trump and DeSantis" race. The Republicans had Ron DeSantis, Governor of Florida, as a strong competitor to Trump. He has gained popularity through his work in the State of Florida.
On the other hand, we have two strong candidates: Mike Pence and Mike Pompeo. Quite like Haley, Pompeo, and Pence have also held the game up against Trump and are not in good relations with the idea of re-electing Trump.
Top 5 Republican Candidates for the 2024 Election
As the electronics approach, the candidates are becoming more and more eager about their goal of becoming the next president. Here are 5 of the most likely candidates to be chosen for the presidential elections of 2024.
Nikki Haley
If there is a threat to the duo of Trump and DeSantis in this election, it is the former Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley. Nikki Haley is trying to gain her ground by not agreeing to just follow Trump and be a copy of him.
She has a strong view on the matter of how important it is for America to not just pretend that Ukraine doesn't exist and it's just a "territorial dispute." She is one of the only candidates amongst both Republicans and Democrats that is supportive of Ukraine and will most likely become a threat to Trump if it becomes obvious that DeSantis is just here to gain votes for Trump.
Mike Pence
Mike Pence, the former Vice President, is one of the important candidates of the Republican party. He has also announced that he is the one to stand against Trump, yet recently, he reacted to the idea of the potential indictment of Donald Trump on Fox Business, saying that "We're living in very challenging times in this country. The American people deserve better," and he added, "I hope we have to move past this."
He also added that "What we've seen over the last 2 and plus years of this administration are policies that have literally weakened America at home and abroad."
Mike Pompeo
The former Secretary of State has also followed the anti-Trump way and has been openly criticizing Trump. He's likely to run for the presidency. He recently announced that "We can't shift blame to others but must accept the responsibility that comes to those of us who step forward and lead."
Ron DeSantis
The 46th Governor of Florida, DeSantis, appears to be the most important opponent against Trump. He has been criticized over his view on Ukraine vs. Russia, after his remarks about how he considers the situation a "territorial dispute."
It seems that even though Mr. DeSantis appeared to be against what Putin has been planning to do since 2018, he did a complete U-turn and matched his opinion with Donald Trump who also opposes USA's presence in Ukraine.
Donald Trump
We can see that recently Trump and his team have tried their best to bring back Donald Trump as the President of The United States of America once again.
Trump is facing every threat in the book, and there is a high chance that he's going to be the next president. However, there are obstacles along the way. With the ongoing indictment case and the lack of access to popular social media platforms, the job is hard for Trump.
He has also been very clear about how he doesn't want to get America into a war with any country in the middle of an economic crisis.
Wrapping Up
We aren't still at the finish line, and a lot is about to happen. All the candidates are serious about becoming the president, and we are going to witness one of the most intense elections in the USA's recent history.
