Manhattan Grand Jury to Halt the Indictment Process of Trump

The Manhattan Grand Jury responsible for Donald Trump's case in the payment of hush money to a porn star announced that he won't hear evidence regarding the case for the next month. This is mostly due to a previously scheduled hiatus and will last approximately until late April.

The Manhattan attorney's office hasn't managed to go with the scheduled plan for the hearings despite the interest of District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

The grand jury normally meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Last week, they heard the testimony on Trump's case on Monday, skipped a meeting on Wednesday, and are going to examine evidence on another case on Thursday.

Plus, next week on the first 2 days they are to examine another case and Thursday is the Passover Holiday.

The following two weeks are set as a scheduled hiatus when the Grand Jury was convened in the month of January.

Trump's Announcement of Arrest

Trump announced on social media that he will be arrested and called on his followers to protest against his possible arrest. This prediction mostly follows the invitation that Trump received from the prosecutors to appear in court and testify before the panel.

Trump naturally rejected the offer and called this criminal case against him a "hoax" and "witch hunt." Citing that the charges are not fair and he simply doesn't agree with the judicial system.

Following his announcement, some of his followers took to the streets and protested and continued their support of Trump till the Waco rally.

What is the Reason Why Trump is Getting Indicted?

The case is brought up by a porn star named Stormy Daniels. Trump is being accused of paying $130 000 to her as "hush money" right before the election of 2016.

This payment was part of an NDA that the adult actress signed with Trump's lawyer so that she would stay quiet about an affair she had with Trump in July 2006 and wouldn't bring it up during the presidential campaign, so it wouldn't hurt Trump's reputation.

After Ms. Daniels brought up the case to the public eye in fear for her and her family's life, Rrump's lawyer sued her back and created a case against her for damages that this case has done to former president Trump.

Now after District Attorney Alvin Bragg ordered to create a Grand Jury to review the evidence, the case has been brought up for a conclusion. We are currently witnessing the first criminal case filed on a US president if successfully proven.

What Does This Case Mean for Trump?

Trump is running for the presidential election of 2024, and many have different views on this case. Some believe that this case is the best thing that could happen to Trump — an amazing opportunity for him to come out of this court battle successfully and regain popularity.

On the other hand, if Donald Trump loses this case, he is done and he will not be eligible for the presidency.

Wrapping Up

This case holds many witnesses, and the process of hearing people related to this matter will take a long time. Trump's lawyer, Mr. Cohen, is also considered to be a part of this indictment, and that means this court battle is a long and hard one.
