Expected Democratic Candidates for the 2024 Presidential Election

As everyone is dwelling on the news within the Republican party, we are wondering who is running for president in 2024 among the Democrats.

Joe Biden, the current president of the United States, hasn't officially confirmed that he'll run for president. It's likely that he won't, and it seems that the Democratic party is interested in other candidates.

In an interview with Tucker Carlson from Fox News, Donald Trump was asked if he “thinks Biden will stay in the race,” to which Trump responded: "I don't think he can."

Tucker asked later on, "So if he doesn't run, if he is taken out by his own party, who does run?"

Donald Trump answered, "Obviously the one that they would talk about would be the Vice president, Kamala. And you have a very ambitious guy in California but he's done a terrible job with the state."

Trump also added, "I just don't see Biden doing it from a physical or a mental standpoint, I don't see it."

Donald Trump said that the two more serious contenders would be Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California, and Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States of America.

Democratic Candidates Who Confirmed They Will Run for President

Here are the Democratic candidates we know will run for president in 2024, along with their statements.

Marianne Williamson

Marianne Williamson is the first Democrat to confirm that she will run for the 2024 presidency. She is known as a social justice activist and a best-selling author.

She's a 70-year-old Jewish motivational speaker and author born in Huston, Texas. She also promises to promote regenerative agriculture, limit pesticides and the overuse of antibiotics in agriculture, improve Americans’ diets, and encourage the creation of centers that promote stress-reducing activities like yoga.

She's going for the presidential race with a lot of plans. She's planning to launch universal government-run healthcare, free child care, at least $1 billion in salary reparations to black Americans, and also creating a federal agency named The Department of Peace.

It should be noted that she ran for president once before in 2020 but didn't get much reaction from the public.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Robert F. Kennedy, 69, comes from a family well-known across the globe. He is the nephew of President John F. Kennedy and the son of Robert F. Kennedy also known as Bobby Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy announced his readiness to join the presidential race.

He will launch his campaign on April 19th as a part of the Democratic party.

Mr. Kennedy, also known as Bobby Jr., dealt with a lot of trauma in his family's history in politics, since both his uncle and father perished in assassination attempts.

Despite all of that he is strong and persistent to light up the Kennedy candle back on in the world of politics. He is the 4th Kennedy to run for president.

He is an environmental lawyer best known for his anti-vaccination activities. He's one of the most well-known voices in the anti-vaccination community. He even went to the extent of creating a nonprofit organization called Children's Health Defense.

He's been clear with everyone that he does not like Anthony Fauci and his actions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bobby Jr. isn't very popular in the Kennedy family with some family members and health experts calling his claims dangerous and misleading. We have to see how things will turn out for Mr. Kennedy.

Democratic Candidates Who Still Haven't Officially Announced They'll Run for President

Many candidates still haven’t made up their minds about announcing their plans for running for president publicly. Here is what we know about them.

Kamala Harris

She is the first black and first Asian American Vice president in the history of the United States of America. She became the Vice president after she served as California's attorney general and junior US senator.

She's received as much, if not more, criticism as Joe Biden over her administration. It is not a lie to say that Kamala Harris isn't very popular but she has a lot of support.

Donald Trump said in his interview with Tucker Carlson on Wednesday: "I don't think she's performed well on the big stage but maybe I'm wrong but there's a certain group of people that'll go crazy if she's not running for president".

And also Ms. Harris held the title of president for a short while in November 2021 as Biden went under surgery. Maybe she'll get the chance to do it again, but this time the competition is too hot.

Gavin Newsom

The current governor of California, 55, and experienced in this game of politics. He's been formerly serving as the mayor of San Francisco.

He's been outspoken against the governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, and also other Republican states governors and has been putting up a show to warm up the ground for the elections by launching ads.

Donald Trump said to Carlson in Wednesday's interview: "You have a very ambitious guy in California, but he's done a terrible job in the state".

"I used to get along great with him, he was always very nice to me, and said the greatest things. That's why I could never hit him because he was so nice to me" said Donald Trump about Gavin Newsom, which surprised Tucker Carlson.

With Gavin Newsom, you can have this in mind that he has announced that he will run for president if Biden does. However, it's unclear if he is serious about his path or not.

Anyhow it seems like Gavin Newsom is already doing his campaign without even officially announcing that he'll run for president.

Wrapping Up

We still have a long way to go until the US election, and it seems that this election can determine many things in the future of the United States and also the World. You know that by seeing how politicians aren't upfront about their status and it seems like everyone is waiting to see what will happen.
