My friend told me a while ago that he had tested a new vertical - IVR sweepstakes / Click2call. I had never worked with this kind of offers before - only with regular sweepstakes - but now I’d got a chance to try them out myself. Read about the process and results here.
Sources: Zeropark, Evadav.
Offers: Myanmar iPhone Winner, Vietnam Win Prize, Bolivia Win Prize, Syrian Win Prize
Vertical: Mainstream
Flow: IVR
Test period: 2 weeks
CPA network: Golden Goose
Here are the final results:
Revenue: $1993,83
Expenses: $1155,36
Profit: $838,47
ROI: 72,5%
Average lead cost (per call): $1,08
Average test eCPM: $10,12
Here you can see relevant IVR targeitngs my cpa network provided:

IVR sweepstakes profit is calculated based on ecpm instead of conversions. eCPM is an average profit from 1000 visitors who requested for a call. In this case lead is equal to a call itself, no matter, if it’s been 10 minutes or visitor, hung up immediately.
ecpm_recent: ecpm for last 15 minutes
ecpm_24h: ecpm for 24 hours
performance: difference between ecpm_recent and ecpm_24h
As you can see in this feed, ecpm can be really big at times, there are some values like eCPM of 50 dollars and even more so you can test even more expensive traffic types as well - it should be profitable on a distance. However you can test less expensive targetings with cheaper traffic as well which will allow you to test iVR on smaller budgets. It depends on your budget and preferences.
iVR offers are mainly mainstream sweepstakes like win a smartphone so you shouldn’t have any issues while searching for creatives / texts for your ads.
Affiliate network advised me to test four geos with better eCPMs at that time: Myanmar, Bolivia, Syrian Arab Republic and Vietnam.
I’ve launched Myanmar ads in Zeropark. There were lots of creatives. You can see the results on a screenshot below with one campaign shown as an example. On this particular campaign I’ve got 82% ROI. Since Zeropark doesn’t support high-res banners in push campaigns I’ve been only working with 192x192 resolution.
I’ve spent $412,86 in Zeropark and $254,67 in Evadav on Myanmar. Total spent for this geo is $667,53, revenue is $1150,92, profit is $483,38$, ROI is 72,4%. Not bad, right?
Conversions and traffic in general in other geos came from Evadav.
You can see the total spend numbers for each geo on the screenshot.
I’ve used very common pictures and texts for all the geos. It was Galaxy S10 / iPhone X photos and a call-to-action text to win it. Here are some examples for each country and language.

Syrian Arab Republic:
Vietnam:
I expected to see lower results in the beginning due to the lack of optimization but it was fixed later and results got much better. While I was testing it became clear which creatives and texts work better.
I had to constantly track CTR (got an average of 0.5-0.6%) and CR (click to call - around 2%) and for my costs not to exceed eCPM of the offer (around 10,12$ on average)
It was a typical workflow for me similar to any other offer or vertical: campaign launch, statistics gathering and analyzing, campaign optimization for further increase of profit.
I can only show overall stats at Golden Goose since I’ve been buying traffic from different sources:
Advises:
Never stop comparing your overall costs to the eCPM of the targeting you’re working with.
Low click cost may mean nothing if you have no leads or calls with real profit. Don’t waste your budget.
Don’t ignore cheaper targeting offers.
It is highly possible that offer with lower payout might have better conversion and cheaper traffic. Always stay open to all options.
Go with higher budgets.
As always, the bigger your test, the more precise and representative your results will be for further optimization.
