"Quick Top in Search Engine" — Head of the Media Buying Team at All Traffic Group, Georgiy Masankin

On December 11, a grand free meetup took place in Bali, and besides some cool photos, we brought recordings of the speakers' presentations with us. We've uploaded them to YouTube and prepared a series of articles with transcriptions of the talks.

First on stage was Georgiy Masankin, the head of the media buying team at All Traffic Group. In his presentation, Georgiy shared insights on how to quickly get a website to the top. You can catch the entire presentation on the speaker's Telegram channel.

The Team's Approach vs. Traditional SEO

Georgiy's presentation focused on Yandex and SEO, not the usual SEO methods we're accustomed to, but rather on gray promotion. This approach is relatively inexpensive but can yield substantial returns in a short period. The main difference in the team's approach compared to traditional SEO is that they don't build up the link mass or analyze behavioral factors. By breaking search engine rules, they can propel a newly created site to the top of Yandex search results in just one week, spending only $30. They'll share more about the key aspects later.

On a slide, the speaker showcases results for search queries. According to Georgiy, achieving such results cost him and his team $30 and took just one day.

With these results, the team managed to get the site into the top 100 in SEO rankings. They have clickers for the offer.

The speaker believes that the main advantage of working with SEO is the absence of moderation. In Russia, for instance, Roskomnadzor often bans top Yandex results. This is both a disadvantage and an advantage for working with search engine results because those at the top are quickly weeded out, and a new site might end up ahead. However, this only works if the site is voluminous and captures all the traffic.

So, what is the overall approach of Georgiy's team? They focus on creating brands where there is fierce competition, and Roskomnadzor handles all the work. This offers an easy opportunity to earn through SEO. The catch is that there are no constant, strong, and long-term leaders in the search results. In other words, it's possible to skyrocket to the top in just a day.

Roadmap for the SEO Earning Process

To understand what's being discussed, the team created a roadmap for the process.

In simple terms, the main goal is to create a site that:

  • Ranks at the top of Yandex.
  • Drives traffic.
  • Requires minimal investment.

How to achieve this with just $30:

  1. Gather the semantics. If you're promoting a brand, you should understand the keywords and queries and how to compile them.
  2. Create a brief for the copywriter — one of the most crucial steps. The site needs to be filled with text, but someone who is not familiar with the topic will never do it qualitatively. There are many good copywriters, but they need to be given the right, clear brief to produce great text that brings profit.
  3. Develop the site. In a nutshell, it's a site with a button, such as "Register," after which the person goes to the offer. At the bottom are texts and images.
  4. Connect metrics. This shows Yandex that you've connected the domain.
  5. Boost the behavioral factors.

More about the brief for the copywriter: The first thing to give them is the semantic core so that they understand which words and queries to insert. What to do next:

  • The copywriter writes text based on the semantics you collected earlier.
  • The text will include highlights and thematic LSI words.
  • LSI increases the relevance of the text and the thematic nature of the page; this data is collected from competitor pages and snippets.
  • It's crucial to structure the text correctly, including headings H1-H6.
  • After receiving the text, check its uniqueness.

An example of such a site:

The uniqueness of this story is that such a site costs $30 and has a high probability of entering the top 100. Many such sites can be created in volume. For example, if each of you now opens Yandex and enters some brand, you'll see a bunch of these sites. About 5-10 pages that mow down and rise, mow down and rise. And all of them, especially if done in volume, capture their traffic.

Working with the Technical Side and Behavioral Factors

There are teams of copywriters who produce a vast number of texts for the same brands. It's crucial to choose the right performer because the text on the site contributes to 50% of the results, in addition to the behavioral factors.

Other essential tasks include:

  1. Having edited images in the ".webp" format on the site, which is the lightest loading format favored by Yandex.
  2. Unique images are necessary, for example, by overlaying some textures.
  3. For setting up redirects, special plugins are used. The websites themselves should be hosted on VPS.
  4. Cloudflare is not necessary. Georgiy's team believes in launching a new site on clean IPs as a promotion condition.
  5. After assembling the site, it's vital to connect metrics, namely: Yandex Metrica + Webmaster, Google Search Console. This is done to show Yandex that you've created a site, making it a mandatory step.
  6. Activate visits to the counters to inform the search engine of the site's existence. Enable auto-targets.

The speaker also mentioned that some asked him not to discuss behavioral factors at all because they believe it can lead to ridicule or theft of the method. Georgiy believes that those against working with behavioral factors simply don't know how to manipulate them correctly.

A crucial point: everything should be calculated immediately after launching the site. Building a site as discussed in the presentation takes from a couple of hours to a day, given you have contractors.

The final step is to track positions. If done correctly, after manipulating behavioral factors, the site will gradually rise in rankings. Your task remains to monitor the positions and adjust the behavioral factors as needed, tracked through the Topvisor service.

The positions the speaker and his team eventually achieved:

They secured the top spot for a particular query, a remarkable result, especially in gray verticals.

Question from the audience: "You showed statistics where you took the first place. What queries, if it's not a secret? You mentioned branded ones, but can you really reach the top position so quickly with branded queries?"

Georgiy Masankin: "Unfortunately, I can't reveal the queries. That's probably why they were blurred. But we can discuss it later. I'm not allowed by jurisdiction to talk about certain things here."

Conclusion

To quickly rank a site in Yandex's search results, one needs to focus not so much on classic SEO but on behavioral factors and on-site texts. Georgiy shared that his team doesn't build up the link mass or analyze behavioral factors. Instead, they begin working with branded queries, allowing them to quickly soar to the top of the search results.

The speaker also elaborated on how to compose a brief for a copywriter, considerations when preparing the technical side of a site, and showcased his team's results, managing to rank a site for just $30 in Yandex's search results.
