If you are “wide” and publish books on Kobo, you may be interested in learning how to make a little bit extra from your Kobo book sales.

I’m fairly new at this self-publishing thing, yet I’ve already earned around $3,000 in sales from Kobo. I also get to earn a little tiny bit of extra money when people buy my books through my Kobo affiliate links. The commissions aren’t huge, but extra money is extra money, right?

See below for what I made in affiliate income from Canada over the past 30 days. It’s not much, but I’ll take that extra $34.62, please.

I only had my books available on Amazon for a very long time. I kept reading (here) that it was stupid to have your books available on Amazon alone.... so when I hired a formatter and her price for formatting books for B&N and Smashwords was a small add-on to the price of formatting for Amazon, I figured I'd give it a shot.

My goal is to have the income from Smashwords pay for the editing and formatting of my book. The income from B&N to pay my taxes. The income from Amazon is profit. So far, so good.

As far as having my books sold in 'private bookstores' -- all other things being equal -- income is income. If I make two cents -- it is two cents I wouldn't have made otherwise and if you add enough pennies together you can pay for a trip to Ireland (been there, done that)

Basically, BN doesn’t like selling books or having customers anymore. The message has been loud and clear for ages that they really just can’t be bothered, please go away and leave them alone. I complied years ago.

BN’s affiliate program has been a mess for me for years–I actually have removed loads of links because my account constantly ran at a negative. (Like, people would buy stuff using my links and then my commission at the end of the month would be -$5.76.) I kind of felt like that told me all I ever needed to know about the state of BN.

I'm one of those unfortunate souls who live in one of the banned Amazon affiliate states. I have a Deleware LLC, but according to my research, if you have a "nexus" (physical presence) in a banned state, you are not allowed to be an amazon affiliate.

Therefore, I signed up for the Barnes & Noble affiliate program at linksynergy.com about a year ago. Guess how many sales I've made with this program?

To this date I've had 601 clicks on my affiliate links and not one of those people purchased a book. I have a relevant site where I teach people how to use a 3D modeling program, and I have recommended a few books that are additional resources for people to continue learning. I don't push the affiliate links so I consider those clicks to be highly qualified. I would have thought I'd get at least one person buy a book. Anyone else have experience with Barnes & Noble? Can to share some conversion rate stats? Even if you're on Amazon, what kind of conversion rate do you get?

Wouldn't recommend at all! We took on this tool on the basis that it could provide insights into the audience demographics of a hashtag - which the dropdown list showcased under the Plus package. Immediately realized they couldnt provide and have had zero response from company about a refund. Sent 6 emails with no reply - seems very dodgy.

I did not have to wait very long for verification, there was a secondary site that I used that had me take a video of myself and I was immediately verified. I did win on my initial free Spin welcome bonus, I had to place a deposit of $20 in order to verify my crypto address and collect my winnings. I received my $50 no deposit winnings in about 24 hours. I am very satisfied so far with this casino.
