This Country Has Less Competition in The Gambling Niche, Get There Now — Analysis of Ad Creatives of the Gambling Niche in Turkey

Every week, we study the ad creatives used by online gambling affiliates. We use a spy service to pick out popular ads from different regions and examine what makes them successful. By analyzing these ads, we can learn from successful approaches and avoid common mistakes when creating our own ads.

In previous articles on our Russian site, we covered countries like Poland, Australia, Chile, Italy, Canada, India, Germany, Portugal, and Kazakhstan. Today, it's time for Turkey. Advertising in Turkey is not much more expensive than in Kazakhstan, and with over 80 million people living there, there is a lot of potential traffic to attract.

All creatives are taken from campaigns promoting the Green Day Casino app:

When analyzing creatives, it's important to consider which app the traffic is going to. Mentioning the app in the creative and having a consistent theme in the ad and the app can greatly affect the conversion from click to install. However, if the creative shows a different app than the one users are being directed to, the conversion rate will significantly decrease.

A Good Ad that Was Screwed Up by Simple Mistakes

In our previous posts, we've discussed how challenging it is to create a single-image creative that can effectively convey gambling motives and grab the audience's attention without making false promises for users to register. However, we've finally found a fantastic example that nails it!

The ad features a charming Turkish girl against the backdrop of slot machines. The bottom of the frame displays the bonus conditions and a prompt to download the app from Google Play. The main text reads, "I'm holding the money; luck is on your side." Unfortunately, the phone in her hand had errors that took all the credit away from the overall ad appeal.

Visitors can easily spot errors when it comes to promotions in the gambling space as they want to be sure if it's an actual gambling scheme or a scam that will take their money. So here they will come up with these concerns:

  • Why is it an iPhone and not an Android smartphone?
  • Why is the text on the smartphone in Russian?

The ad’s approach is good, but it is important to fix the mistakes.

The Newsman Who Almost Could

Using news-based ads on Tier-2 and 3 GEOs is a hotly debated topic. On one hand, these types of ads require high-quality content to be effective. They typically have a higher conversion rate if they're well-made videos. However, creating these ads can be difficult and expensive. Is it worth it to invest in such ads when targeting Turkey? Yes, if there's a steady volume of over 5 deposits per day and enough resources to test multiple expensive ads at the same time.

Let's take a look at an example:

This video ad starts with a typical setup — a presenter on the left, and bundles of money on the right. We then see a clock, followed by a yellow car driving away. The main character appears, sharing his story. Next, there's a slot machine, but the video slows down and breaks, which is frustrating.

The video then shows a cartoonish wheel, which might be controversial, but could appeal to Turkish audiences. Not all sectors win on the wheel, which adds excitement. Then we see the option to deposit and withdraw money, but the banking interface feels like a template and could negatively impact audience trust.

The video ends with another expensive car and no call to action to download the app. The background voiceover sounds robotic and lacks emotion. Overall, this ad is satisfactory, but it needs a lot of improvement.

Conclusion

Turkey is currently a very promising country in the gambling niche. As we can see, the quality of the creatives being run there is not very good, although there is a lot of gambling traffic and many good offers in affiliate networks. You just need to arm yourself with creatives from good designers, and the chances of making a profit immediately increase.

It is important to note that spy services should only be used for analysis. Stealing other people's creative work will play a cruel joke. Poor-quality videos will burn more money on consumables and traffic than they will bring in savings and profit.
