"In 2022, I Managed to Earn $300 000", How to Earn on OnlyFans? Interviews with Three Models and a Guide for Beginners

OnlyFans is the world's largest platform for selling intimate content. Funny enough, it wasn't originally designed for this purpose, but it is now primarily associated with adult content. Anyone can earn money on this platform, but not everyone knows how to do it. In this article, we will discuss how to make money on OnlyFans as a beginner, what OnlyFans customers like, how to promote your account, where to find fans, and how to increase your earnings. We will also conduct interviews with three successful models who will share their experiences of making money on the platform. We will talk to an affiliate marketing specialist who drives traffic to OnlyFans and examine his achievements.

What Is OnlyFans, and Why Should You Choose It?

OnlyFans is a platform where anyone can create their own page and offer subscriptions and various unique content: photos, videos, chats, voice messages, and more. This content can be both paid and free, making it visible to all visitors. Currently, 90% of all content on OnlyFans is adult content, making it a well-established platform for creators in this niche. OnlyFans has become more than just an internet resource; it has become a household name. Almost everyone between the ages of 15 and 30 has heard of it at least once. As of January 2022 statistics, OnlyFans has 346 million monthly users, and this number is constantly growing. Despite the emergence of similar projects in the past year, such as Fansly, they are unlikely to compete with the popularity of OnlyFans.

Another significant advantage of OnlyFans is that its primary audience is concentrated in affluent countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Europe.

How to Register, Verify, and Set Up Your Account

Let's take a look at how to get started on the platform, create a profile, and configure your initial settings.

Registration

To register on OnlyFans, you need to enter your real name in Latin characters or simply sign up through email, Twitter, or a Microsoft account. The name you provide during registration will not be visible to subscribers, and you can choose any public name you like.

The next step is to create an author page. To do this, click on the profile circle on the left:

At the moment, citizens of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan cannot create author pages on OnlyFans. To bypass this restriction, you can do so only by obtaining a visa or citizenship from another country.

The next step is to upload an avatar, profile banner, and fill in the 'Bio' section. On the cover, you can showcase a unique aspect of the content you publish, and for the profile photo, a face is the most suitable. All photos must be unique and owned by the account holder. In the 'Bio' section, introduce yourself and engage your subscribers. It's best to mention how often content will be published each week, as well as its features or categories. You should fill out all profile information in English. Additionally, you can add your country, links to social media, and Spotify. Here's an example of a good description and proper formatting:

Verification

After everything is filled out, you need to verify your account. It's more convenient to do this with a phone, as you'll need to take photos of your documents online rather than uploading a ready-made file:

After uploading the documents, you'll need to turn your face towards the camera to complete the verification. At the initial stage, to receive a positive decision, you should provide as much information as possible to the moderators. Therefore, before submitting for verification, it's worth mentioning your Instagram link*. Usually, you'll receive a response within 24 hours.

Geo-Block

Geo-blocking is an important part of a profile setup, as it allows you to protect your page from fraud and leaks. Additionally, thanks to the financially capable audience, you'll be able to sell more expensive promotions in the future. Geo-blocks typically include all economically disadvantaged countries, such as India, Iraq, Ethiopia, Cuba, and so on. A good geo-block will help you avoid unnecessary problems and make your work safer and more comfortable. You can see the geo-block of a top OnlyFans model below, in the 'Interview with Sofia' section.

How Models Earn on OnlyFans

Now, let's move on to the most important part — monetizing content on OnlyFans. Earnings on the platform come from several main components: subscriptions, tips, custom content, PPV (Pay-Per-View), sexting, and streams. Let's take a closer look at each of them:

Subscriptions and PPV Content

As mentioned earlier, access to accounts can be obtained through paid or free monthly subscriptions. In the first case, a user cannot see any posts until they pay for a subscription, but they can see information about the number of posts. Posts in an account with paid access display text but hide their content and appear like this:

The subscription price should start at $4.99 per month. And out of that sum  OnlyFans takes 20% as a commission, and the model receives the remaining 80%. Additionally, you can offer trial subscriptions and discounts when signing up for several months at once:

You can subscribe to an open account for free and see most of the content. However, such a page is monetized through closed posts that can be viewed after the payment is made:

Such content is referred to as PPV, or Pay-Per-View, where viewers pay for access. You can publish PPV posts on your page or offer them in private messages. PPV posts can only be published on a free account. This feature is not available on paid subscription pages. You can change the subscription type at any time. For public figures, it's possible to create a paid subscription profile, especially if you already have a warmed-up audience on Instagram*. For new models without an existing audience, it's advisable to make the subscription free to attract users.

Tips

A significant portion of earnings also comes from tips and sexting. Tips can be sent for specific posts or on a model's profile page, as a way to thank them for quality content. Tips can also be attached to a message to ensure the model notices it and responds.

It's essential to use this tool skillfully. Giving attention to fans and expressing gratitude for donations is crucial.

Sexting and Custom Content

Custom content is a substantial part of a model's income. Fans typically request photos or videos tailored to their specific desires. Naturally, such requests come at a price, but the rate can be set at your discretion. On average, the cost of a two-minute video ranges from $15 to $50, and photos range from $2 to $5. Payment occurs within messages. For example, the model creates a video and sends it to a fan. The fan can only view it after purchasing it as a PPV.

This income is accounted for in the statistics under the 'Messages' category.

It's advisable to respond to fans' messages within 5 minutes to keep their interest alive. All communication takes place in English, so it's worthwhile for each model to invest in learning the language.

Streams

Another form of activity is hosting live streams, during which models can interact with subscribers and motivate them to spend more. Fans also leave tips during streams, providing an additional source of income.

You can go live by clicking the 'Publish New Post' button on your profile page. You can choose who has access to the stream, such as all fans or only selected ones:

You can also set a price for streaming or make it free and set a goal for tips. You can stream alone or with another model, thereby promoting both profiles.

Referrals

You can earn an additional income through a referral link. The platform allows you to receive 5% of another user's earnings for the first year. However, if the total referral earnings exceed $1 million over time, the referral payments for that account will be suspended.

Now that we've learned how to register and monetize content, let's move on to the most challenging part — profile promotion.

How to Promote a New OnlyFans Profile

Even if your account is filled with attractive and high-quality content, it won't be meaningful without fans willing to pay for it. There are several ways to promote a new OnlyFans profile: social media, forums, and purchasing promotion. All of these options are valuable, and none of them should be overlooked. Promoting a profile from scratch requires considerable effort. Of course, the speed of achieving results depends on your budget. Let's delve into each of these traffic channels on OnlyFans in more detail.

Social Media

Social media is the easiest and most cost-effective traffic channel you can use. Instagram*, TikTok, and YouTube are the most popular and effective platforms for boosting your OnlyFans profile. Each of these social networks requires a tailored approach, taking into account the audience's needs and content formats. It's important to note that these platforms are sensitive to explicit content, so your posts need to be carefully thought out. The primary goal of such posts is to pique the user's interest and make them want to see more without revealing any explicit content. This is especially crucial for TikTok, which can ban a profile for even minor violations. Here are some examples of popular videos and accounts where you can find ideas:

On Instagram, moderators also do not tolerate any hint of explicit content, but photos in lingerie and bikinis usually pass moderation.

YouTube

For YouTube, you can create various types of content, including conversational formats and short videos. You can also repost TikTok videos to YouTube Shorts to gain additional traffic from this social media platform.

Reddit and Other Forums

Reddit combines the features of a forum and a social network, making it one of the most popular platforms with 52 million monthly users. The key distinction between Reddit and the social media platforms mentioned earlier is the freedom to post explicit content. Here's an example of such a post, where, for the sake of decency, we've added lingerie to the models:

If users like posts, they comment and push them to the top. Ignoring Reddit means forfeiting access to high-quality traffic from a financially solvent audience and potential new fans.

Promotion

Promotion involves purchasing the promotion of your personal profile among other models' fans. In this case, you should look for a model with a similar aesthetic and niche. Among models, promotion is considered the most effective way to grow your account, as it provides highly targeted traffic. It makes sense, as you are selling to an audience that is already on OnlyFans, accustomed to paying for content, and willing to spend money on another model.

In theory, this sounds great, but in practice, finding effective promotion that pays off isn't always easy. The cost of promotion varies among models, typically ranging from $450 to $900 per thousand fans (gg). The challenge is that subscribers may not arrive within the specified time frame or may not be from the desired demographic. For instance, a model purchases promotion targeting Americans and Europeans, but Indian or Iraqi subscribers may sign up. In such cases, you can request a refund, but it's not always possible. Models recommend conducting such deals within OnlyFans and specifying the purpose of the transaction during payment to ensure that moderators can assist in case of disputes.

Affiliate Marketing

An alternative method for growing your profile is affiliate marketing. This method is not widely popular among models because it is considered to be a more complex source of traffic.

In reality, affiliate marketing is an excellent way to promote your account in this niche, as it allows you to fully configure the geographic location, financial capacity, and interests of your fans. This enables you to reach a broad audience and achieve a high conversion rate, as directing traffic to profiles of real, attractive models is relatively easy.

However, there are some restrictions that both affiliate marketers and models should be aware of before launching advertising campaigns. OnlyFans rules prohibit traffic from Google Ads, and violators risk a permanent ban from the platform.

It's interesting that the customer support itself states that using a Linktree or Instagram is not prohibited by the rules:

To divert traffic to OnlyFans, you can use advertising platforms on social media, such as Facebook, as it's not prohibited by the rules. With a competent approach, an experienced affiliate marketer can bring a substantial, targeted, and solvent audience to an OnlyFans model's profile. Considering the situation with promotions and the acute need for models for high-quality traffic, affiliate marketing can be an excellent solution. It's beneficial for both models and webmasters.

Now, let's move on to the most interesting part, where we interviewed three top OnlyFans models about their work, earnings, professional challenges, and other intricacies of the business.

"In 2022 I’ve earned $300 000," — Sophia, top OnlyFans model and author of the Telegram channel Cursed Channel.

Tell us about your OnlyFans account. How long have you been working there, and how many subscribers do you have?

I've been working for about two years, but I've been actively engaged for about a year. Right now, I have around 90 000 subscribers, but this number increases every day because I constantly buy traffic.

Which social media platforms do you use for promotion, and which ones would you recommend to beginners?

I have Instagram, Twitter, PornHub, and Reddit. About 50 people per day come from social media, but I have a consistent flow of traffic from PornHub. They find me themselves and subscribe. For beginners, Reddit is the best option. Many models from Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine use geo-blocking.

Can you tell us which countries you have blacklisted and why? How do foreign models feel about geo-blocking?

I have geo-blocking for 130 countries. I'm concerned about having only high-quality traffic come to me. Models from the CIS understand the need for geo-blocking. American models, in particular, have their own perspective on this matter. I've even been accused of racism because of it. They've told me some absurd things like there are millionaires in Zimbabwe, and I'm making a big mistake.

Apart from social media, what methods do you use to attract traffic? What are your thoughts on affiliate marketing for such purposes?

I mainly use gg promotions to get guaranteed fans. It's hard to say about affiliate marketing. It's a murky area, to be honest. There are not many normal people who are engaged in it, especially on Reddit, for example. Not to mention traffic from Google. In my opinion, it's easier to buy promotions, but it’s not always the best option.

Can you explain to our subscribers what promo is and how it works?

Yes, gg is a promo format where they create promo posts or send Mass DMs to you until a certain number of subscribers sign up through your personal link. For example, you buy 1 000 subscribers, and the model will promote you in messages to all of her fans until the required number is reached. Of course, many models exclude their regulars. Some simply send messages to an uninterested audience.

How much did you earn in 2022?

In 2022, I got serious and started developing my profile. I earned $300 000 in one year.

Do you have a team working on your account? Tell us about your employees and what tasks they perform.

Yes, I currently have 6 employees. One of them is my manager, who also happens to be my husband, and the other 5 are sexters who interact with fans on my behalf. Their main task is to sell my videos, photos, and various content, and engage in conversations. They receive 25% for working on my page and 15% on the pages of models I manage. They set their own schedules, but because they love money and want to earn a lot, they work more than 7 shifts a week. Sometimes they take 2 shifts, working in the evening and at night, for 12 hours. A regular shift lasts 6 hours. My top sexters make around $6 000 to $8 000 per month. These are guys aged 19-23. I don't handle messages at all; this work is entirely on them.

You often talk about the promo in your Telegram channel. Tell us how much promo costs on average for a top foreign model and what challenges are associated with this type of promotion?

On average, it costs $600 to $800 for 1000 subscribers. My monthly budget for promo is around $15 000 to $20 000, and accordingly, I get around 15 000 to 20 000 fans in that time. The challenge is that there are many unreasonable models and an incredible amount of scamming. The promo market situation is getting worse every month. If you compare what it was like a year ago and now, it's simply two different markets. Currently, I can't even book promo because it's all sold out. There's less and less quality promo available because models are leaving the business.

At the moment, OnlyFans doesn't accept registrations from models in Russia. Is your relocation related to this?

My account was registered a long time ago, and I moved before February 2022. It was simply a desire to spend the winter in Georgia, but later it became clear that returning was not safe. I love Russia very much and miss it.

How difficult was it to organize the relocation given your line of work?

In general, relocations were relatively easy, except during the times when I was still doing regular streaming. I had to do it wherever possible. It was challenging, especially considering that good internet and suitable backgrounds weren't available everywhere. With OnlyFans, it's not straightforward. I moved a lot in the second half of 2022, and it was quite exhausting. I recently reviewed the custom videos I made back then, and I had such a tired look on my face; it was awful. I live in Israel, and I received my ID today.

Tell us about the downsides and challenges of working on OnlyFans as a model. Is there anything that frustrates or exhausts you?

I believe this line of work isn't for everyone. The most challenging part is finding your team and reliable employees in this industry. Few people are talented and trainable. In this industry, 90% of people are here temporarily and aren't passionate about it. They don't like it, and they do it out of necessity. The remaining 10% are trying to do something, but not everyone succeeds. It's a tough business with high competition, and models are constantly competing with each other. If agencies and top models were animals, they would probably be sharks. Every model is ready to devour another. I'm at the top in terms of streaming and OnlyFans, and I see the fierce competition that goes on here. The community here isn't the most friendly.

What advice would you give to aspiring models? Perhaps some safety tips?

If we're talking about de-anonymizing (doxxing), then I think it's foolish. If a model is concerned about safety and de-anonymization, she shouldn't enter the adult industry at all. It's not for her, really. She should go where she won't feel embarrassed and confined. In the adult industry, de-anonymization will happen sooner or later anyway. My advice to beginners is to work more and invest in themselves. Gain experience and move forward. For example, I used to invest a lot of money in promotion. I squeezed everything I could from all my safety nets. Not everyone can do that. Some people don't have that kind of money, and for others, it doesn’t make sense to spend too much money on a business they may not profit from.

How do you currently process payments? What payment methods do you use? And how did you manage this in Russia?

I've been using Paxum for about 4 years, both in Russia and now. It's a great platform, provided you weren't born in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) or Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). There can be some unpleasant moments, of course, but overall, it's stable. I withdraw funds using cards from other countries and buy a lot of cryptocurrency. Now, we're waiting for my husband to get his ID, and we'll withdraw everything through Business Paxum to an offshore company.

In your opinion, what's better – OnlyFans or Fansly? Where is it more profitable and convenient to work?

Definitely, OnlyFans is better because Fansly is a place for freeloaders. Regardless of what anyone says, OnlyFans knows how to promote itself and create hype. In this sense, they are geniuses. They elevated OnlyFans to such a pedestal that it dominated the market, and people no longer acknowledged anything else. No Fansly, MyClub, or FanCentro has even come close to 0.001% of OnlyFans' success. I think there's no point in trying something else. The only downside to OnlyFans is that the site often works poorly, especially during updates.

Can you share a story related to your work? Maybe something funny or a time when you received a lot of money.

People are constantly sending me a lot of money, haha. It's become the norm. I have a funny story. Once, when I was moving out of an apartment, we couldn't part ways amicably with the landlady. She tried to charge us an extra $200-$300 for utilities, even though we had paid everything. After we moved out, I left my spare phone behind, and I had my OnlyFans account with an associated email on it. Fortunately, it was a second free account I wasn't using, and verification had long expired. The landlady or her nephew decided to hack my OnlyFans. They found my username, accessed my email, and saw emails from PornHub, Chaturbate, and so on. Naturally, there was a ton of adult content recorded in their apartment. We had a laugh about it, and I got a little worried at first, but then I calmed down.

How exactly does content monetization work on your account? Which approach, in your opinion, is more effective?

Mainly, I make money by selling content within the account. I earn very little from subscriptions. Just to give you an example from January's statistics: I made $1 700 from subscriptions and $76 000 from messages. I make money by selling custom content, photos, compilations, videos, and so on. Everyone is looking for the most efficient method, but it doesn't really exist. It varies for everyone. I've seen girls making incredible money just from subscriptions, but it doesn't work that way for me. I found what works perfectly for me.

During one sexting session, which typically lasts around 40 minutes, you can earn from $200," says Lena, an OnlyFans model, and the author of the Telegram channel OnlyFans Helper by Ginger.

Tell us about your OnlyFans account. How long have you been working there, and how many subscribers do you have?

I registered on OnlyFans in late January 2021. Currently, I have 13 000 fans. Before February 2022, I had 28 000.

Which social media platforms do you use for promotion, and what would you recommend to newcomers?

I used to stream on Chaturbate, and my first paying fans, there were 31 of them, came from there. Later, I convinced my husband to create a Reddit account, which helped me gain 200 subscribers. To start, Reddit is enough, but you need to understand how it works. I don't use other popular social media platforms because I had an incident where my personal information got leaked, and I had to delete all my social media accounts. Overall, TikTok is a great platform, and Instagram and Twitter can also be beneficial. An important note: when registering on OnlyFans, you must have social media accounts with real photos for the moderators.

Tell us about "leaks." How did you deal with it?

I thought I was mentally prepared for it because all my close ones knew what I was doing. Someone contacted me on Telegram and started blackmailing me, saying, "If you don't want us to send photos to all your friends, pay $500." I told them I wouldn't pay anything; they could do whatever they wanted. So, they leaked the content. It was tough, not because my friends received those photos and videos, but because my personal information, including my address, was exposed in a Telegram channel with many subscribers. I felt like everyone on the street was looking at me, especially in public transport. In those channels, guys were writing things like, "Here's her address, if anyone's nearby, go and write something on her wall or door." It was challenging and scary. I coped with it because I'm not an eighteen-year-old girl anymore, and my family supported me. It's going to be very difficult for girls who are still in college because those photos and videos will spread quickly there. People can be ruthless, and it can lead to bullying, eventually forcing you to drop out of school. If someone thinks this is easy money, it's a big mistake. It's fast money, yes, but not easy money.

How can one protect themselves from leaks?

It's better to delete your social media accounts and the photos in them. As soon as you start uploading 18+ photos and videos, you need to immediately think about your safety. But even if you do everything correctly, there's no 100% guarantee that you won't get leaked. Those who are just considering entering the adult industry, especially those who don't really like it, should think carefully if it's worth it. Anything that's been on the internet will stay there. Five years will pass, you'll change jobs, start a family, and you can still get exposed. Many models from Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine use geo-blocking.

Tell us which countries you've placed on your blacklist and why?

A geo-block won't help against leaks, but in terms of work, I recommend blocking all the poor countries if your profile is free. Without this, you'll get a bunch of subscribers from India who will try to scam you. There may be paying customers there, one in a thousand who will pay $20. In general, it's not worth it. If your profile is paid, then you don't need to block anyone.

What are some important nuances in your work that beginners on OnlyFans should consider?

You should remember that in Ukraine, distributing pornography is not allowed. If you get blackmailed, you won't be able to go to the police because you'll end up being the main criminal here, not the one trying to leak your data. Police officers often visit homes, threaten, and demand bribes. If you don't agree, they take you to court. They come once, you give them what they want, and then they want to eat tomorrow, and come again. We hope that this law will soon be decriminalized, and models will stop getting arrested. We signed a petition, the president considered it, and now this bill is under revision. When it's passed, I will personally make sure that all the blackmailers get what they deserve.

What methods are you currently using to attract fans?

At the moment, I only use Reddit and buy guaranteed fans from other models. Buying promotions is risky and expensive, but it's worth it. You need to thoroughly check who you're buying from to avoid scams. Reviews don't always help determine how good the promotion is. Even if a model has 100% positive reviews, it doesn't guarantee that these fans will spend on you. Promotions are always a lottery. If you know how to manage social media, it's better to attract traffic from there. They are easier to work with, they come directly to you, and they are more loyal.

Are there any ways to make purchasing promotions safer? For example, working through an escrow service?

Foreign models definitely won't work through an escrow service. They already have a lot of clients. They will simply reject you, and that's it. Quality promotion is so scarce that models have to take risks. There aren't enough people selling traffic. I was actually one of the first to start posting reviews on promotions, and I had to buy them from unverified individuals. I made a payment through OnlyFans, and I got scammed for $900. I contacted support, sent our conversations. OnlyFans said: solve the issue yourself, you don't have conversations on OnlyFans, so we can't help you.

How much did you earn in 2021 and 2022?

In 2021, when I was just starting, I made around $100 000, but in 2022, it was almost half as much. After February 2022, I had to move, and I experienced depression, and so on. I returned to work more actively in August, so my income was lower.

Do you have a team, or do you work alone?

I don't have a team. My husband initially helped with Reddit, and sometimes I ask him to help clear chats, but he doesn't handle sales. Other than that, I do everything by myself. Sometimes I consider hiring someone, but I haven't made up my mind. I can organize everything myself, but I don't have the ability to organize someone else's work. I'm one of those people who think, 'No one will do it like I do.'

Tell us about the downsides and challenges of working on OnlyFans as a model. Is there anything that frustrates or exhausts you?

The challenge, once again, is with traffic. Some platforms help with promotion, but here you need to bring in fans yourself. There are many unreasonable people you need to block. I advise all girls not to waste time on fans who genuinely annoy you or ask you to do things you don't want to do.

What advice do you have for aspiring models? How difficult is it to be an OnlyFans model in general?

I recommend browsing channels, reading, learning everything, and cleaning up your social media. See which category suits you best and what you're more comfortable with. Most importantly, don't be afraid to try and make mistakes — it's normal. Don't compare yourself to models who have been working for several years. Don't compare your start to someone else's middle or peak. Don't listen to managers who say that models should only focus on content and not try to do everything at once. I think that's nonsense. If a girl has the time and desire, she should understand everything and then build a team. Some find it easier to hand their page over to an agency and collect their percentage. Another important point is burnout. Make sure to find a hobby or something to do so you don't burn out from repetitive daily tasks. Don't think that if you don't monitor OnlyFans every 5 minutes, you'll miss out on some money. No, you need to create a schedule, take breaks, and distract yourself.

What payment services do you use, and which ones would you recommend?

I withdraw to Paxum. I also have a Paxum card, and I withdraw cash from it. The exchange rate isn't quite favorable, but at least you don't have to pay taxes. By the way, I do pay taxes, but as an SMM manager. If your earnings are significant, it's better not to draw attention to them.

In your opinion, what's better — OnlyFans or Fansly? Where is it more profitable and convenient to work?

It's easier on OnlyFans because, again, there's promotion. Fansly has significant problems with this, but it does have internal traffic. The site occasionally recommends you and attracts subscribers. But from social networks, people are more likely to transition to OnlyFans, while many haven't even heard of Fansly. OnlyFans is still in the lead, but if you can't work there, you can try Fansly. There are models there earning from $5 000 to $10 000.

Tell us a funny story related to your work.

My friend wrote to me that my ex-husband was sending her some VKontakte group where there was a regular photo of me in a dating group where I supposedly sought hot men. As I understood it, they stole my content and tried to sell it on my behalf to those who wrote it. And here's my husband writing to her, 'Have you seen what she's doing?!' The situation is funny because it's unclear what he himself was doing in these groups.

How exactly do you monetize your content on your account? Do you offer monthly subscriptions or sell content individually? In your opinion, which method is more effective?

I have a paid subscription for those who come from the old Reddit or through a trial link. When the link expires, they can choose to stay and pay or leave. You can sell photos and videos, but the most significant income comes from sexting. In these conversations, you sell content, and the income is unlimited. For one sexting session, which lasts about 40 minutes, you can earn an average of $200. This is the primary source of income. Fans can also tip for lingerie, nails, flowers, or anything else. Some people also create fetish customs. They are expensive, but personally, I focus on tips and sexting. Subscriptions make up 20% of my total earnings.

You're a mother of three children, how do you manage to combine your work with motherhood?

I don't manage anything at all, haha. I just handle my timing well. I understand that right now I have 2 hours of free time, which means I should either shoot content, stream or sell on OnlyFans. Every day, I choose a task to focus on instead of, let’s say, watching a movie. It's precisely because I have three children and very little free time that I try to make the most of every spare minute. When I feel tired, I simply put my phone away. I schedule messages so that everything sells without my direct involvement and then move on to other tasks. In this sense, it's even easier for me than for completely free girls. Because they have a free day, they tend to postpone things. I can't afford that luxury. I know I have roughly 2 hours, and there won't be any more time later. I have a strict schedule for everything, and I try to maximize my productivity in that time.

In total, over three months, he sent me a sum of 3 million rubles," says Alisa, an OnlyFans model and the author of the Telegram channel "Only Srans."

Tell us about your OnlyFans account. How long have you been working there, and how many subscribers do you have?

I've had my account for a while, but due to interruptions caused by citizenship issues, I had to pause my work. The number of subscribers is not particularly important in this field, so I won't discuss it. I prefer not to drop hints about my profile.

Which social networks do you use for promotion, and what would you recommend to newcomers?

All of them, whatever is available. I recommend starting with internal traffic because it can be monetized much faster than through social networks. Many models from Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine use geo-blocking.

Can you tell us which countries you have placed in your blacklist and why?

I use geo-blocking for all countries with a low cost of living. In general, I have left only Europe, a couple of islands, and the USA. I don't take risks with other countries.

How much do you earn per week?

I've earned $6 000 in the past week.

Do you work anonymously? If so, in your observation, does it negatively impact your earnings, or do you think otherwise?

I don't work anonymously. I only maintain anonymity in my Telegram channel. My OnlyFans and all social networks show my face. As far as I know, faceless models can be just as successful; in this case, the content must be of very high quality.

Do you have sexters, or do you handle messages yourself? If you do, how much time do you dedicate to this daily?

I occasionally have sexters. The main challenge is finding them in the labor market. If you work without them, you could say that OnlyFans becomes your life. There's no time for anything else. It's no longer a job where you just go to an office. Sexters are essential. Right now, I'm not working alone.

In your Telegram channel, you often talk about promotions. Can you tell us how much promo typically costs for a top model and what are the challenges with this type of promotion?

On average, 1 000 subscribers cost around $800, and there's no guarantee it will pay off. The difficulty lies in models allowing overselling and the inability to regulate promo sales. You might simply get scammed after payment. Therefore, dishonest things, including attracting low-quality subscribers, are widespread now, and it doesn't always pay off. Such situations used to be rare, but now they are common.

Can you describe the drawbacks and challenges of working on OnlyFans as a model?

OnlyFans, as a platform, is quite challenging in terms of customer support, restrictions, and constant changes. It's like walking on a powder keg. Nowadays, attracting traffic has become a significant challenge. If you lack fame, starting from scratch is tough. Large budgets are needed for buying promotions. Traffic and the job market are frustrating as everyone deceives each other regarding advertising, work, and payments. The adult industry is interesting but often complex.

What advice would you give to aspiring models, including safety and de-anonymization tips?

I advise aspiring models to invest substantial budgets into OnlyFans and not expect easy money. De-anonymization is ridiculous. Every model should be prepared for it. Everything that's been on the internet will stay there. If you fear your mother seeing you, it's better not to enter this field. Another essential point is that communication demands immense psychological strength. You need to perceive it as work and not let it affect you personally. Don't let insults hurt you; you should understand that it's just money.

In your opinion, which is better — OnlyFans or Fansly? Where is it more profitable and convenient to work?

OnlyFans is more profitable and secure. Fansly has better customer support, but working there is generally not recommended because of constant hacking, lack of protection, and frequent financial thefts from models. Fansly can be used by those models who haven’t obtained that much fame yet..

Can you share an interesting story related to your work?

I'll tell you a rather sad but intriguing one. I had a fan who spent $1 000 on OnlyFans in a week, which is quite a lot. We started communicating outside of OnlyFans, and he fell in love. Over three months, he sent me a total of 3 million rubles. He invited me to Paris, wanted a relationship, but I never meet fans. I burned out from this interaction and ended it.

How do you monetize your content on your account? Do you offer monthly subscriptions or sell content individually? And in your opinion, which method is more effective?

Subscriptions make up approximately 1% of my income. Mostly, I sell communication, custom photos, and videos. An account can't survive solely on paid subscriptions, that's for sure. Plus, significant media exposure is needed for that.

'In two weeks, I gained 320 fans and earned just over $300,' says BigMax, an arbitrage specialist and author of the Telegram channel BigMax 2.0.

Max, hello! You drove traffic to an OnlyFans model with a brand-new account. Can you tell us which traffic acquisition channels you used?

Hello! Yes, I tried driving traffic from Reddit and Facebook*. It was more of an experiment than a serious endeavor.

You’ve used Reddit for promotion. How well did this source perform, and what results did you achieve?

The primary advantage of Reddit is that it's essentially free. You can post in any NSFW subreddits and get traffic. Here are my results over two weeks:

You’ve tried to drive traffic to an OnlyFans account from Facebook*. What came out of that?

Yes, I tried launching with Facebook*, but it didn't yield results. I couldn't configure the right audience. Out of 100 clicks, only 5-10 would have OnlyFans accounts. On Reddit, for instance, almost every user in NSFW subreddits has an OnlyFans account.

You're aware of the ban on traffic from Google Ads. How can you bypass this or is it better not to use this source?

I've seen that it's a point in OnlyFans' rules. I think it's best not to advertise on brand keywords and to route traffic through a proxy if necessary. Then it should be possible. I doubt they'll scrutinize each account to figure out where the traffic is coming from.

How much have you earned during your time managing the model's account, and how many fans have subscribed?

In two weeks, I gained 320 fans and earned just over $300. Almost all the sales happened within messages. I communicated very simplistically and hardly paid any attention to it. I believe that with more effective traffic management, the sums could have been significantly higher.

What payment methods did you use, and how did you withdraw the money?

We received money on Skrill and from there to Binance. About 10% of the amount is lost through these transactions.

What difficulties did you encounter?

For Reddit, you need good accounts. It's impossible to post with newly registered ones. The most challenging part was managing everything at once: maintaining accounts, handling Reddit, and processing traffic through communication. The latter is the most exhausting. I don't think a novice model can handle all of this on their own and achieve substantial earnings. Just Reddit alone takes several hours a day, not to mention everything else.

Conclusions

From the interviews with models, it becomes clear that OnlyFans can be an excellent platform for earning money. However, the adult industry is complex and not suitable for everyone. Promoting a new profile can be a challenge for novice models. To avoid scammers and purchasing low-quality traffic, you can read reviews in the Telegram channels of the girls from the interview. For affiliate marketing specialists, OnlyFans can be a breath of fresh air. All models mention that high-quality traffic is nearly depleted, and acquiring it is becoming more challenging and expensive. This suggests that affiliate marketers need to consider how to obtain large volumes of good traffic and experiment. Currently, models view affiliate marketing with skepticism, but this can change by showing results. Good luck!
