CoinGate Review
7.4/10A 12-year Vilnius crypto gateway holding the segment's cleanest license pair: Bank of Lithuania MiCA CASP authorization LB002323 plus payment institution license LB002324 (both December 16, 2025), a fully public 1% price card, a real public sandbox, roughly 20 live coins settling into EUR, USD, and GBP, a licensed-only gambling policy written into its ToS, and zero named casino clients.
Our read
About 20 live coins across eight networks and three settlement fiats, with no cards and no APMs, the narrowest catalog among the licensed gateways in this set.
A full-scope MiCA CASP (custody, both exchange types, transfers) plus a PI license for stablecoin transfers, held back a notch only by the license pair's short track record since December 2025.
Open docs, a real public sandbox, SDKs in four languages, and a white-label cashier with virtual ledgers, against a plugin roster that is all e-commerce with no casino-platform connectors listed anywhere.
Free SEPA withdrawals and priced bulk payouts are real strengths, while weekly settlement on Standard and the 0.50 EUR + 0.5-1.5% payout stack are the cost a payout-heavy book pays.
Twelve years in market and a named leadership team, set against zero gambling references in the client roster.
A complete public fee table with no setup fee, no monthly minimum, no rolling reserve, and no lock-in, leaving only Enterprise volume pricing to negotiation.
Methodology. Our own score, a weighted average of six dimensions, tilted toward licensing and trust. The crypto-gateway weights put .26 on compliance and .18 each on trust and settlement, so the CASP and PI pair does the heavy lifting, the public price card adds at the commercials end, and the roughly 20-coin catalog caps coverage, netting out at 7.4. Read the full methodology
- The segment's cleanest license pair: Bank of Lithuania MiCA CASP authorization LB002323 with full scope (custody, crypto-to-fiat and crypto-to-crypto exchange, transfers) plus payment institution license LB002324 for regulated stablecoin transfers, both granted December 16, 2025, the first MiCA CASP won by a homegrown Lithuanian company.
- Fully public pricing: 1% processing, no setup or monthly fees, SEPA withdrawals free above 50 EUR, and every payout fee on one page, the most transparent fee schedule in the crypto-gateway set.
- Twelve years of continuous operation since 2014, the longest record among the licensed gateways in this set.
- Top-tier integration hygiene: open docs at developer.coingate.com, a genuinely public sandbox with testnet coins, official SDKs in PHP, Node, Python, and Ruby, and an llms.txt/OpenAPI index kept current.
- The operator building blocks are all present and priced: mass payouts, per-player payment channels, crypto refunds, and a white-label cashier with virtual ledgers.
- A licensed-only gambling policy written into the trader ToS, which makes it a clean partner for regulated operators and their compliance teams.
- Zero named gambling clients. The flagship reference is NordVPN, the closest thing to gaming is Eldorado.gg (a game-item marketplace), and the iGaming pages carry no operator reference.
- The catalog is narrow for the segment: about 20 live coins on the supported-currencies page (Jul 2026), a fraction of what the gambling-native crypto gateways carry, and the US sits outside the supported-countries list entirely.
- The payout fee stack lands on top of the 1% headline: 0.50 EUR + 0.5% per crypto payout, 1.5% more with conversion, and 0.5% on SWIFT, so a payout-heavy casino's all-in cost runs roughly 1.5-2.5% plus FX, settled weekly on Standard.
- Support depth is thin on paper: no published SLA, no written account-management tier, and unpublished support languages.
EU and EEA-licensed operators (MGA, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania-type markets) that need a MiCA-authorized crypto rail with published pricing, and platform providers that want a white-label crypto cashier with virtual ledgers running under a regulated entity.
US-facing operators, since the US sits outside the supported-countries list with no MTLs behind it, offshore books that want no-questions onboarding, and anyone who needs named casino references or instant daily fiat settlement before shortlisting.
Markets & licensing
Two codes carry the whole compliance story. LB002323 is a Bank of Lithuania MiCA CASP authorization granted to UAB Decentralized on December 16, 2025 with full scope: custody and administration, exchange of crypto for funds, crypto-to-crypto exchange, and transfers on behalf of clients. LB002324 is a payment institution license from the same window covering electronic money token transfers. Both licenses are valid from December 16, 2025, with passporting notifications to 29 member states. There are no gambling-supplier licenses and no US coverage of any kind.
The US is absent from CoinGate's 75-country supported list for business accounts, and there are no money-transmitter licenses or state approvals that would put it there. There is no partner route or workaround either, so a US-facing operator has no reason to shortlist CoinGate at all.
MiCA passporting stops at the EEA border, and CoinGate holds no UK-specific registration. Whether UK businesses can onboard, and under which terms, is a question for sales and your compliance team before contracting. Treat UK coverage as an open question.

Licensing tier: Top tier for the segment: a full-scope CASP plus a PI license beats both the unlicensed breadth players and the gambling-native gateways without EEA authorization.
Business accounts open in 75 countries and payout reach runs to 180+ (Jul 2026), with the regulated footprint being the EEA under MiCA passporting.
The US is missing from the supported-countries list outright, and the trader ToS separately reserves termination for merchants resident in non-FATF-member countries.

Integrations & engineering
One contract and one API instead of a separate deal per studio, feed, or PSP. Here's what connects, how fast, and on what stack.
A custodial gateway on one business account: the merchant creates an order through the v2 REST API, a plugin, or hosted checkout, the buyer pays in one of roughly 11 acceptance coins, the rate stays fixed for the roughly 20-minute invoice window, and CoinGate converts automatically or on demand into the merchant's chosen mix of crypto, EUR, USD, or GBP. Callbacks with retries and delivery tracking confirm payment, refund, billing, and address events. The same account carries the Payouts API (beneficiaries, payout settings, bulk send), payment channels for per-player dedicated addresses, recurring billing, and conversion endpoints, and the white-label deployment puts all of it behind the platform's own domain. Gambling merchants clear KYB only with an operating license in hand, per the trader ToS.
Not published anywhere. The public sandbox and official SDKs let engineering start before KYB clears, and onboarding carries no published SLA.
Products & tools
One custodial gateway does the accepting, converting, and settling, with recurring billing, mass payouts, per-player payment channels, and a white-label cashier layered onto the same account and API.
Crypto Payment Gateway
The core custodial gateway: crypto acceptance at a flat public 1%, a rate fixed at checkout for the invoice window, and merchant-side settlement in crypto or in EUR, USD, and GBP, delivered through hosted checkout, the v2 API, or e-commerce plugins.
- 1% flat processing on Standard, with the entire fee table public (Jul 2026)
- About 20 live coins on the supported-currencies page, including BTC over Lightning (live since 2018), ETH, SOL, USDT, USDC, DAI, LTC, DOGE, XRP, TRX, and BNB
- Eight networks: Ethereum, BSC, TRON, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism
- Fixed exchange rate locked at checkout, then auto or manual conversion into EUR, USD, GBP, or a supported crypto
- Hosted checkout, API deposits, and email or link billing for invoice-style flows
- Plugins for WooCommerce, WHMCS, Wix, OpenCart, PrestaShop, and Shopware
Mass Payouts & Payment Channels
The operator-facing block: bulk crypto payouts priced at 0.50 EUR + 0.5% each, dedicated per-player deposit addresses through payment channels, crypto refunds to buyers, and free SEPA withdrawals above the 50 EUR minimum on the fiat leg.
- Bulk payouts to hundreds of recipients at 0.50 EUR + 0.5% per payout, plus 1.5% when conversion is involved (Jul 2026)
- Payment channels: dedicated deposit addresses per player or client
- Crypto refunds back to buyers as a documented flow
- Payouts API covering beneficiaries, payout settings, and bulk send
- SEPA withdrawals free above a 50 EUR minimum, SWIFT at 0.5% with a 50 EUR minimum fee
White-Label Crypto Cashier
A white-label deployment of the gateway for gaming platforms: the merchant's own domain and frontend, virtual ledgers branded Advanced Accounting for client sub-accounting, team permissions, and AML compliance infrastructure bundled in.
- Runs on the platform's own domain and frontend
- Virtual ledgers (Advanced Accounting) for per-client sub-accounting
- Multi-currency accounts with team permissions
- AML compliance infrastructure included, per the gaming-platforms page
- Manual or automatic conversion controls per currency
The history
Sales decks get rewritten for every deal. A dated record doesn't.
Registered in Vilnius in 2014 as UAB "Virtualios Valiutos", now UAB Decentralized, CoinGate launched operations in 2015 and grew through the e-commerce plugin channel long before touching iGaming. Founders Jonas Gilys, Irmantas Bačiulis, and Vilius Semėnas lead the company, with Semėnas as CEO after co-founder Dmitrijus Borisenka, CEO for roughly eight years, departed to run the classic-car marketplace Dyler. The regulatory arc defines the story: one of Lithuania's oldest virtual-currency registrants came through the MiCA transitional period and emerged on December 16, 2025 holding CASP authorization LB002323 and payment institution license LB002324, the first homegrown Lithuanian company to clear the MiCA gate.

Longevity and ownership
Switching vendors is expensive, which makes the company's staying power part of the purchase. What the contract says about your data decides how expensive an exit gets.
CoinGate vs alternatives
No two vendors describe themselves the same way, which makes their own claims hard to line up. Every name here answers the same fields, so you can see where this one sits against the closest alternatives.
| Attribute | CoinGate | CoinsPaid | Confirmo | NOWPayments |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Founded | 2014 | 2014 | 2014 | 2019 |

| EMI / PI licenses | Lithuania | — | Ireland | — |
| Settlement | Weekly on Standard, weekly or on-request on Enterprise | Near-instant crypto-to-fiat at a rate locked when the payment is made (Jul 2026) | Bank-account settlements that can be fully automated and recurring, with near-instant crypto settlement (Dec 2025) | Per transaction, in minutes (Jul 2026) |
| Instant payouts | — | Yes | — | Yes |
The take: CoinsPaid is the gambling-native gateway with the operator roster CoinGate lacks, and it sits without the EEA authorization CoinGate holds. NOWPayments brings a far longer coin list with no MiCA authorization behind it, and Confirmo is the other licensed path with a cheaper headline rate. Pick CoinGate when the license pair and the public fee table matter more to your compliance team than named casino references.
Settlement & commercials
CoinGate publishes pricing. Those figures are below, and final terms still land in the contract.
Flat 1% processing on Standard with the entire fee schedule public: free deposits, free crypto and SEPA withdrawals (50 EUR minimums), SWIFT at 0.5%, mass payouts at 0.50 EUR + 0.5% plus 1.5% when conversion is involved, refunds at 0.25 EUR + 0.1%, and 1% on manual currency exchange. Enterprise trades the flat rate for custom volume pricing with on-request settlement (Jul 2026).
The headline 1% understates a payout-heavy operator's true cost: once bulk payouts (0.50 EUR + 0.5-1.5%) and SWIFT (0.5%) land on top, the all-in runs roughly 1.5-2.5% plus FX. Settlement is weekly on Standard and only Enterprise gets on-request timing. Offsetting that, there is no setup fee, no monthly minimum, no rolling reserve, and no lock-in beyond a 10-day notice period.

Money movement
Onboarding path
- 1Open a business account self-serve or talk to sales for Enterprise terms, since Standard pricing is already public
- 2Pass KYB under the MiCA regime, where gambling merchants must show an operating license per the trader ToS
- 3Start building against the public sandbox at sandbox.coingate.com with testnet coins while onboarding runs
- 4Integrate the v2 REST API, an official SDK, or a plugin, choosing hosted checkout, API deposits, or billing links
- 5Configure the settlement mix per currency: auto or manual conversion, crypto or EUR, USD, GBP, plus payment channels and mass payouts as needed
- 6Go live on weekly Standard settlement, and move to Enterprise for custom rates and on-request settlement once volume justifies it
Support & account management
You can't demo service before you sign, so what a vendor puts in writing is the only floor you can hold it to.
Frequently asked
The things operators actually ask before signing.
Is CoinGate licensed under MiCA?+
Yes. The Bank of Lithuania authorized UAB Decentralized, the company behind CoinGate, as a crypto-asset service provider on December 16, 2025, authorization code LB002323, covering custody and administration of crypto-assets, exchange of crypto for funds, crypto-to-crypto exchange, and transfers on behalf of clients. A payment institution license, LB002324, came in the same window and covers transfer services for electronic money tokens, meaning regulated stablecoin transfers. CoinGate was the first homegrown Lithuanian company to receive a MiCA CASP authorization.
Can an unlicensed casino take deposits through CoinGate?+
No, and it is in writing. The trader terms of service prohibit merchants engaging "in activities without holding the required licenses or other authorizations issued by competent public authorities (e.g. organization of games of chance)", so a gambling merchant has to show an operating license at KYB. The same ToS lets CoinGate terminate traders resident in non-FATF-member countries, and either side can walk on 10 days' notice. For a regulated operator that posture is a feature. For an offshore book it is a hard stop.
What does CoinGate actually cost?+
The whole table is public as of July 2026: 1% per transaction on Standard, no setup or monthly fees, free deposits, free crypto and SEPA withdrawals above a 50 EUR minimum, SWIFT withdrawals at 0.5% with a 50 EUR minimum fee, mass payouts at 0.50 EUR + 0.5% per payout (plus 1.5% when a conversion is involved), refunds at 0.25 EUR + 0.1%, and 1% on manual currency exchange. Settlement is weekly on Standard and weekly or on-request on Enterprise, where rates go custom on volume. Budget the payout stack, because a payout-heavy operator's all-in cost lands closer to 1.5-2.5% plus FX than to the 1% headline.
Which cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies does CoinGate support?+
About 20 coins in total as of July 2026, with per-service subsets: roughly 11 for merchant acceptance, including BTC (with Lightning since 2018), ETH, SOL, USDT, USDC, DAI, LTC, DOGE, XRP, TRX, and BNB, across the Ethereum, BSC, TRON, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism networks. The payer-side list was trimmed after MiCA authorization, so long-tail altcoins are gone. Fiat settlement covers three currencies: EUR by free SEPA or by SWIFT, and USD and GBP by SWIFT.
Does CoinGate offer a white-label crypto cashier?+
Yes, aimed at gaming platforms: the gateway runs on the platform's own domain and frontend, with virtual ledgers (branded Advanced Accounting) for per-client sub-accounting, multi-currency accounts with team permissions, and AML compliance infrastructure bundled in. It is the most operator-shaped product in the stack, letting a platform provider run a regulated crypto cashier under its own brand with the Lithuanian CASP behind it. Conversion controls stay per currency, manual or automatic, and the same public fee logic applies.
