IGT PlayDigital Review

7.3/10

IGT's digital arm: a top-tier US and UK licensed iGaming content supplier with its own slots and table games, a remote game server, a 10,000+ game aggregation platform, an award-winning engagement suite, and the leading B2B retail sportsbook in North America (PlaySports).

Our take

IGT's digital arm is a licensed, US-and-UK content powerhouse, not a turnkey casino platform. You buy IGT's own slots and table games, plug them in through the PlayRGS remote game server, layer on a 10,000-plus game aggregation library, and run promotions with an award-winning engagement suite. PlaySports adds the leading B2B retail sportsbook in North America. It's a content and tooling pick for regulated operators that already have a platform to run it on.

Our read

7.3/10
GoodReviewed by Partnerkin ResearchAugust 2026
Games & content9.0

Owned IGT slots and table games plus a 10,000-plus aggregation library through one integration. Wheel of Fortune and omnichannel titles are content most rivals can't license.

Payments4.0

Not a payments product. PlayDigital supplies content and an RGS with no cashier attached, and there's no crypto. Payments sit with the operator's own platform.

Platform & tech7.0

PlayRGS, the aggregation platform, the Engagement Platform, and the PlaySports sportsbook are strong and proven. But there's no operator PAM. Content and tooling is the full extent of it.

Support & onboarding7.0

Enterprise content supplier with dedicated account management and managed RGS hosting. Onboarding is a single-integration project, far lighter than a full build.

Compliance & licensing9.0

Certified in the UK and all seven US iGaming states, plus Italy and Malta. That regulated reach is the main edge over offshore content peers.

Commercials & transparency6.0

Ownership and brand are clear, but pricing is on request and quoted per deal.

Methodology. Our own score, a weighted average of six dimensions, tilted toward platform and games. Owned content and tier-1 US and UK licensing do the lifting here. The offer's stopping point, no full platform or PAM, no crypto, no public pricing, earns fewer points. Read the full methodology

Strengths
  • Owned content from a top-tier brand, including the Wheel of Fortune series and omnichannel slots that bridge land-based and online.
  • Licensed where it counts. Certified in the UK and all seven US iGaming states, which most offshore content suppliers can't match.
  • PlayRGS powers 100-plus commercial and lottery customers worldwide, with one integration opening a 10,000-plus game aggregation library.
  • An award-winning Engagement Platform. The Prize Engine suite won Digital Product of the Year at the Global Gaming Awards Americas in both 2024 and 2025.
  • PlaySports is the leading B2B retail sportsbook in North America, with FanDuel, Boyd Gaming, and Delaware North among its clients.
Watch-outs
  • Not a platform. There's no operator PAM or turnkey launch, so you need your own platform to run the content on.
  • No CRM and no affiliate system in the toolkit. The Engagement Platform covers promotions, but lifecycle marketing and acquisition tracking stay on your own stack.
  • No crypto. Fiat only, so it's the wrong fit for crypto-first brands.
  • Private since the July 2025 Apollo buyout, so the counterpart is the group-level IGT and terms are shaped deal by deal.
  • iLottery is no longer part of this business. It stayed with the former parent, now Brightstar Lottery, so don't buy PlayDigital expecting a lottery platform.
Best for

Regulated operators and lotteries in the US and UK that want premium, certified IGT content and a single aggregation integration, plus North American operators that need a proven retail sportsbook. Strong where land-based and online meet, given IGT's omnichannel titles like Wheel of Fortune.

Not for

Operators looking for a full platform or PAM, white-label or turnkey launch, or anything crypto. PlayDigital supplies content, an RGS, aggregation, and a sportsbook. The player-account platform underneath them is yours to source.

Markets & licensing

IGT PlayDigital is one of only two content suppliers live in all seven US iGaming states, and it carries a current UK Gambling Commission B2B software license. The content business sits inside the Apollo-owned IGT formed in July 2025.

Licensed

Certified and live in all seven US iGaming states: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Connecticut, West Virginia, Delaware, and Rhode Island. PlaySports adds retail and online sports betting across more states.

PlayDigital Casino (Aggregation)

One integration, 10,000+ gamesLicense: operatorVisit
PlayDigital Casino (Aggregation) — product render

This is the fast lane into IGT's content and a large third-party library at once. Instead of integrating dozens of studios one by one, an operator connects once to PlayRGS and reaches IGT's own games plus 10,000-plus titles from 120-plus suppliers. The aggregation platform itself is the technology IGT acquired with iSoftBet in 2022, so the hub arrives already proven.

This is a content layer: you still need your own platform and PAM to run it on. What you get is breadth of catalog through one connection, the Engagement Platform for promotions on top, and IGT's licensing behind the content, which matters in the UK and the regulated US states where offshore aggregators can't operate.

How it connects

Integrations & engineering

One contract and one API instead of a separate deal per studio, feed, or PSP. Here's what connects, how fast, and on what stack.

Distinctive fieldThe named partners and the stack behind the platform.
One unified API

PlayDigital is a content and aggregation supplier, so the core move is a single PlayRGS integration. PlayRGS is the remote game server that hosts and serves IGT's own games, and through the same connection an operator reaches the PlayDigital Casino aggregation platform, which carries 10,000-plus titles from 120-plus third-party studios. The aggregation layer is the technology IGT gained when it bought iSoftBet in 2022. The Engagement Platform (Prize Engine, MEGA VAULT, leaderboards, missions, prize draws) sits on top to run promotions across that content. PlaySports is a separate, US-built stack with its own betting engine and sportsbook PAM for retail and online sports.

The history

Sales decks get rewritten for every deal. A dated record doesn't.

IGT's land-based gaming roots run to 1975, but 'IGT PlayDigital' as a modern digital business took shape with the July 2022 acquisition of iSoftBet, which gave IGT its current digital studio and aggregation platform. In July 2025, Apollo Global Management bought IGT's Gaming & Digital business, combined it with Everi, and now runs it privately under the IGT name. The former parent kept the lottery business and became Brightstar Lottery.

The take: IGT PlayDigital is the licensed, content-led pick: own IGT slots, an RGS, aggregation, and a North American sportsbook, fully certified in the UK and all seven US iGaming states. Playtech is the heavier full-stack rival that also brings a PAM, live studios, and turnkey delivery. EveryMatrix is the modular platform-and-content rival that can supply the player platform PlayDigital deliberately doesn't. None of the three is crypto-first, so a crypto brand should look at SOFTSWISS instead.

Questions

Frequently asked

The things operators actually ask before signing.

Who owns IGT PlayDigital now?+

Apollo Global Management. On July 1, 2025, Apollo completed its roughly $6.3 billion purchase of IGT's Gaming & Digital business and combined it with Everi. That business now runs privately under the IGT name, organized into Gaming, Digital, and FinTech units, and PlayDigital is the digital part. The old parent company kept the lottery business and renamed itself Brightstar Lottery (NYSE: BRSL).

Is IGT PlayDigital available in the US?+

In every US state that allows iGaming. PlayDigital content is certified and live in New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, West Virginia, Delaware, and Rhode Island, and only one other supplier can say the same. PlaySports adds retail and online sports betting across many more US states.

Can it supply UK-regulated operators?+

Yes, on a current UKGC remote gambling software license held through IGT UK Interactive (active since September 2024), with content certification carried over from the iSoftBet business acquired in 2022. Paired with all seven US states, that's licensing most offshore content suppliers can't touch.

Is IGT PlayDigital a casino platform or just content?+

Content and tooling. You get IGT's own games, the PlayRGS remote game server, a 10,000-plus game aggregation library, and an engagement suite for promotions. There's no operator PAM or turnkey launch, so you supply the platform underneath. PlaySports is the exception, with its own US-built sportsbook PAM.

Does IGT PlayDigital include iLottery?+

No, not anymore. iLottery stayed with the former parent, now Brightstar Lottery, when Apollo bought the gaming and digital business in 2025. PlayDigital today is casino content, aggregation, engagement tools, and sports betting. If you want an iLottery platform, that's Brightstar.

Does it support crypto?+

No. PlayDigital is a fiat-focused, regulated-market supplier with no crypto cashier. Crypto casinos sit outside its market entirely.

Who uses IGT PlayDigital?+

PlayRGS powers 100-plus commercial and lottery customers worldwide. The named ones include bet365, PokerStars Casino, Svenska Spel, Veikkaus, Norsk Tipping, Lottomatica, and SKS365. On the sports side, PlaySports powers FanDuel, Boyd Gaming, and Delaware North.
