Our read

Strengths
  • In-house content at scale: eight studios plus licensed IP like The Walking Dead, Gladiator, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
  • Licensed where it counts: UKGC, six US iGaming states (NJ, MI, PA, WV, DE, CT), Italy, Brazil, and Peru, with live US casino studios.
  • LSE-listed and FTSE 250: €763.6M revenue and €197M adjusted EBITDA for FY2025.
  • Tier-1 client base: bet365, Flutter, Entain, Hard Rock Digital, FanDuel, and OPAP among them.
Watch-outs
  • Enterprise pace and enterprise economics. Deals run predominantly revenue-share and are sized for scaled operators, and integrations take months.
  • A large legacy footprint. The IMS lineage and breadth of products mean more complexity than a lean modern platform.
  • No crypto. There's no native crypto cashier.
  • Aggregation is secondary. Third-party content arrives through the Open Platform marketplace, but the catalog centers on owned studios.
  • Breadth over depth. Buying the whole stack means every vertical comes from Playtech.
Best for

Large, regulated operators that want one vendor for everything, online and retail alike, especially in the UK, the licensed US states, Italy, and LatAm. Good for omnichannel brands that run shops as well as a website.

Not for

Small newcomers, crypto-first brands, and operators who'd sooner buy the single best product in each category than take a full Playtech stack.

US footprint doubled from three states to six over 2025–2026: West Virginia, Delaware (late 2025), and Connecticut joined the original NJ/MI/PA base. Brazil's federal market went live in January 2025.

Playtech certifies its software with each regulator separately, so a market opens to its licensees only once that certification is in place.

Turnkey Platform — product render

Instead of stitching together a platform, a content aggregator, a sportsbook, and a bingo network from different vendors, you take the whole stack from one company on a single contract and a single integration.

Pricing is on request and predominantly revenue-share, the integration is an enterprise project measured in months, and the platform carries the complexity of its IMS heritage. You also run the business on your own license.

Playtech is live in the UK, several US states, Italy, Brazil, and Peru, and it can connect retail shops to the same platform. That breadth is the trade-off for the price tag.

Delaware North added New Jersey to a Playtech partnership that already ran its other markets, putting Ember Casino on PAM+ in June 2026 with Open Platform content aggregation and BetBuddy. Playtech also sells the platform as software only.

How it connects

Integrations & engineering

One contract and one API instead of a separate deal per studio, feed, or PSP. Here's what connects, how fast, and on what stack.

One unified API

Playtech is end-to-end and largely in-house, so most of the stack arrives as a single integration. PAM+ is the player and wallet core, and Playtech ONE is the omnichannel layer that carries that one wallet across online, mobile, and retail. Where you do bring outside systems, the Playtech Open Platform (POP) exposes a set of standard open APIs that plug third-party CRM, support, payments, and analytics tools into IMS and PAM+.

The history

Longevity in this industry usually comes with a change of owner somewhere in it.

Founded in 1999 and listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2006, Playtech grew through in-house development and a long run of studio and platform acquisitions. It sold its last B2C asset, Snaitech, to Flutter in April 2025 to become a pure-play B2B company.
