During MAC, you will connect with new partners and catch up with old friends, and everyone in the industry will be there. And remember: networking doesn’t end when the conference does. A walk around Yerevan and its surroundings with your peers will take your collaboration to a whole new level.

That is why we have put together a list of must-see places in and around Yerevan—perfect for exploring after the conference.

Read to the end, especially if you haven’t booked a hotel yet. You will find exclusive MAC hotel deals with up to 30% off.

Culture & History of Yerevan

Cascade Complex

This massive architectural structure resembles a ziggurat, but instead of ancient gods at the top, you’ll find a stunning panoramic view of Yerevan and the majestic Mount Ararat.

Climbing the 572 steps is no joke, but there’s a hidden escalator inside the complex. Don’t miss the modern sculptures at the base!

Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral

Built in 2001 to mark 1,700 years of Christianity as Armenia’s state religion, this cathedral is just a short walk from the MAC venue. The view from here is beautiful, and its domes are visible from almost anywhere in Yerevan.

Armenian National Opera and Ballet Theatre

Located in the heart of the city and designed by architect Alexander Tamanian, this theater is a cultural hub. It’s surrounded by charming parks and cafes, and “Swan Lake” — a man-made pond — is just around the corner.

Yervand Kochar Museum

Dedicated to the renowned Armenian artist and sculptor, this museum features works from various stages of Kochar’s life, including his iconic “spatial paintings.” Exhibits and lectures are available in multiple languages.

Matenadaran (The Repository of Ancient Manuscripts)

If you love books, this is a must-see. Home to manuscripts from the 5th to 18th centuries, including rare early Armenian printed texts. You can’t touch the books, but you can read fascinating documents in many languages.

Sip & Stroll

Yerevan Wine Street

No trip to Yerevan is complete without good wine. On Wine Street, you’ll find cozy wine bars, vibrant restaurants, and even the house-museums of writer Hovhannes Tumanyan and artist Martiros Saryan.

Burlesque Karaoke

Tucked away in the heart of Yerevan’s nightlife is a one-of-a-kind spot — Burlesque Karaoke. But this place isn’t just about songs and a stage, it’s all about the vibe. Every guest gets a chance to feel like the star of the show: the set design, lighting, sound, and energy all come together to create a real performance feel.

Burlesque is, above all, about style. From neon touches to velvet couches, the interior whispers: here, you can be yourself, play with your image, and never be afraid to stand out. The song list ranges from timeless classics to bold pop anthems. And if you’re not in the mood to sing, just stay for the atmosphere, dance, sip cocktails, and enjoy the company.

Noy Ararat Brandy-Wine Factory

If you’re into stronger spirits, visit this iconic distillery for a guided tasting of port wines and cognacs. (Maybe save this for after the main conference days — the MAC Afterparty has an open bar waiting for you.)

Day Trips Outside Yerevan

Lake Sevan

The largest lake in the Caucasus and one of the highest-altitude lakes in the world (1,900m above sea level), just 1–1.5 hours by car from Yerevan. A peaceful natural escape with beautiful views.

Echmiadzin

Only 20 km from Yerevan, this town is home to one of the world’s oldest Christian churches. The 7th-century cathedral ruins are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and nearby you'll find the stunning churches of St. Hripsime, Gayane, and Shoghakat.

Khor Virap Monastery

Located 40 km from Yerevan, this historic site is where King Tiridates III imprisoned Saint Gregory the Illuminator for 14 years. It's also the closest accessible point to Mount Ararat, offering breathtaking views of the mountain and monastery.

Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory

Set on the slopes of Mount Aragats (just 35 km from Yerevan), this spot offers real telescope sessions, stargazing, and astronomy lectures — all in a truly magical setting.
